Several Harvard seniors, including Sophia Scott, Jana Amin, Gavin Lindsey, and Anthony Miguel, were among the first cohort to graduate with a Certificate in Civic Engagement, which requires courses on social issues, a 300-hour practicum, and a capstone retreat. Through experiences like teaching at Suffolk County Jail, mentoring high schoolers, and taking classes on oral histories and U.S. K-12 schools, students applied academic learning to real-world public service and reinforced their commitment to community engagement.
