Executive Director for Administration

As Executive Director for Administration and Finance for the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE), Ruth works closely with the Dean of Undergraduate Education and the Associate Deans of Undergraduate Education, to execute the vision and strategy of the OUE. She oversees a team of Associate and Assistant Directors of Administration in the OUE who manage the administrative and financial functions of the offices reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Education.

Ruth received her BA in psychology from Smith College and her MLA in General Management from the Harvard Extension School. In her 16+ years at Harvard, Ruth has held a variety of roles within the OUE, including Staff Assistant and Assistant Director of Administration at the Mignone Center for Career Success (MCS), and Associate Director of Administration, where she oversaw financial and HR administration for MCS, the Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (URAF), and the Office of International Education (OIE). Ruth was promoted into the role of Executive Director for Administration and Finance in 2020. Prior to joining Harvard in 2007, Ruth held various roles in non-profit administration and K-12 education, where her responsibilities included volunteer management, program management and teaching. She taught English abroad in Athens, Greece and Paris, France from 2001-2003.

In her spare time, Ruth enjoys cycling, Francophile culture, and visiting family in her home state of Kentucky.
