The mission of Harvard College is to educate citizens and citizen-leaders for our society. We do this through our commitment to the transformative power of a liberal arts and sciences education. The Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) is the back office that supports this process. We are responsible for the administration of the undergraduate curriculum at Harvard, working with academic departments and individual faculty to deliver a transformative educational experience for our students.
The Office of Undergraduate Education is responsible for the administration of the undergraduate curriculum at Harvard College. We work with academic departments and individual faculty on curricular planning, pedagogy, course development, and the implementation of new Faculty-led programs for undergraduates. We also collaborate with departments, faculty, and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to oversee Instructional Support, including the assignment of Teaching Fellows and Teaching Assistants (TFs and TAs). Finally, we are responsible for a wide-range of offices and programs affiliated with undergraduate education, including the Program in General Education, the Advising Programs Office, the Academic Resource Center, the Harvard College Writing Program, the First-Year Seminar Program, the Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships, the Office of International Education, the Mignone Center for Career Success, and the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning.
